Cycling in Aegina and Agkistri!

Aigina and Agkistri are two islands very close to Athens. They combine fantastic nature and tranquillity. So, if you are fun of sports and activities or simply you want to try something different, then our suggestion will be to cycle on both islands!  It’s common secret that many times with the bike there is no destination, but only the enjoy of cycling in special places! You can cross paths in nature, unknown and inaccessible for most drivers, close to beautiful waters, listen to the relaxing noises of nature, see and live the environment! is a team of friendly, enthusiastic, energetic people, totally passionate about bicycle. Their aim is to develop and to create unique, fun loving cycling routes all over Greece and discover the beauties, the culture and the heritage of this unique country. One of the tour that they offer is a three days tour to Aigina and Agkistri.

Day 1

Starting from Pireaus Port, along with the bikes you will arrive at Aigina. After a short city sightseeing tour you are heading north, using a coastal road and through pistachio trees you reach Souvala for a short stop at this small port. After a few kilometers you leave the coastal road and you are heading south for an intermediate uphill route to reach the Afea Temple archaeological site from where you can even see the Acropolis and the Sounio, when the atmosphere is clear! Last, you reach Agia Marina to spend the rest of the day relaxing by the sea and enjoy fresh fruits and wine.

Day 2

 Soon after breakfast by the sea and you will start the cycling from Agia Marina to Aigina through Portes and Pachia Rachi villages. It is the most wonderful part of the island for cycling and the route has a length of 25 klm. You can take advantage of the low traffic of the route to admire the magnificent scenery and to concentrate to the challenging up hills. Then you are heading for Aigina city to embark to the ferry which will take you to the next island of the tour Agistri!

Day 3

After breakfast it’s time to meet this beautiful island as well. You are going to Limenaria, on the other side of the island. This is a bike friendly route in very low traffic road through a pine forest and the most beautiful scenery all the way. Return from Limenaria and visit one of the most famous beaches of the island, the Dragonera beach where you relax, enjoy the sun and the sea. After relaxing for a couple of hours you will head head to Skala for the return trip to Piraeus.. An unforgettable experience with memories that will last forever!
